About this tour

Mountain Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a large primeval Forest located in south-western Uganda in the  Kanungu district. The forest is one of the most biologically diverse areas on Earth with Half of the world’s population of the highly endangered mountai gorillas live within its borders. The park was created to protect the forest’s mountain gorilla population from poachers and habitat loss.

Highlights

  • Research has shown that the Bwindi gorilla's diet is high in fruit and that the Bwindi gorillas, even silverbacks, are more likely to climb trees to feed on foliage, fruits, and epiphytes despite their massive size and structure. The Mountain gorillas build daily nests as dusk approaches and sleep comfortably in trees & move in families led by the oldest silverback of the group.
